The bombs included in the ERS are modeled after the American AN-M64 500lb general purpose munitions. It is 1/9th scale of the full size weapon.

What kind of aircraft will the ERS work on?
A:
The ERS was designed for the WingSpan Model B-17 but can be used on almost any propeller driven warbird, either mounted internally or externally under a wing.
Q:
What size aircraft will the ERS work on?
A:
The digital controller will work with any size aircraft but the electronic pylon that releases the bomb works best on aircraft with a wingspan of 85" or less.

Why can't the ERS be used on aircraft larger than 85"?
A:
Although it maybe possible for the electronic pylon to work on aircraft larger than 85" the performance is not guaranteed. This is because the solenoid that is inside the electronic pylon is very small, and can not generate the forces needed to over come the aerodynamic loads created by larger aircraft.

Will the electronic pylons work on a jet?
A:
Again it maybe possible to used the electronic pylon on jet aircraft but it has not been tested.

Why does the ERS need such a big battery?
A:
The main reason the ERS needs a minimum 6V 2500mAh battery is because of the solenoid inside each electronic pylon. Solenoids use coiled wire to create an electromagnetic field. This electromagnetic field is very weak and requires a high current load in order to create the forces needed to retract the release cradle.

Will the ERS work with 2.4GHz receivers?
A:
Yes the digital control module will work on a 2.4GHz radio system as it does on and FM or PCM receivers.

When the auxiliary servo is used to open bomb bay doors the bombs drop before the doors open?
A:
The auxiliary servo is just a pass through from the input of the receiver. Reversing the signal on the transmitter will result in the same operation only with the switch in the opposite direction. This problem is the result of the position the servo/servo arm is mounted and the direction the servo moves. The first solution is to rotate the servo/servo arm 180°. Doing this will make the doors open and then start the drop sequence. If rotating the servo/servo arm is not possible an alternative is the use and aftermarket servo reverser and plug it into the auxiliary servo channel on the digital controller.

Can other bombs be used other than what is included?
A:
Yes. The included shackle can be mounted to any other device that is desired. There are some limitations because of the solenoid, so be mindful of the size & weight of the new bomb. If the new bomb is too large & heavy it may not release consistently.

Can the digital controller be re-programmed for different configurations?
A:
No. The digital controller can not be re-programmed by the end user. Future versions of the ERS may include a user programmable feature but no time frame has been set for this product. However depending on how the electronic pylons are mounted other configurations can be achieved by re-ordering the sequence the electronic pylons are plugged in to the digital controller
